This ESC and Motor Combo is perfect for those who prioritize weight and space constraints, making it an excellent choice for 1:10 scale low-speed rock crawlers and trail runners powered by 3S-4S batteries and weighing under 8lbs. It can also excel in more aggressive setups within lighter 1:10 scale touring cars, stadium trucks, or buggies weighing up to 5lbs.

Important Product Update as of June 14, 2023: The internal BEC is making a comeback! All Micro X2s produced on or after June 2023 will once again feature the internal BEC. You can easily identify the manufacturing date on the ESC box's side or the ESC's receiver wire. ESCs manufactured between August 2022 and May 2023 do not include an internal BEC but come with an external 10-amp CC BEC; for further details, please refer to this link.

For those seeking a more aggressive setup in heavier rigs, such as rock racing and extended hill climbing, we recommend using the Mamba X ESC. Similar to its predecessor, it boasts enhanced features for rock crawling, including active drag brake and drag brake ramp.

Product Use Statements:
  • Applying voltages higher than 16.8 volts will cause irreparable damage to your controller, voiding your warranty.
  • Recommended battery capacity for 1:18 scale vehicles is 1500mAh. We recommend using 30C continuous discharge or higher LiPo batteries (or high quality 25C batteries such as Traxxas® Power Cell).
  • Mamba Micro X has 4.0mm bullet connectors on the motor wires and the battery input wires are bare. You must add the connector of your choice to the battery leads. We recommend a high current connector rated for at least 40 amps.

Tech Notes:
*Although the Mamba Micro X2 is waterproof, it is not intended for operation while completely submerged in liquid. They can corrode when exposed to corrosive materials, such as salt water. Always rinse the ESC with clean water after exposure to corrosives or dirt. While the controller may be waterproof, we suggest users confirm that the rest of their vehicle, including the batteries, servos, radio and chassis are also waterproof before exposing them to liquids of any kind.

Water Resistant Design: The sensor board is coated with silicone conformal coating to protect the sensors from moisture. The sensor connections are not water resistant; water can cause signal loss which could result in loss of sensored capabilities. Castle recommends applying dielectric grease to the outside of the sensor wire connections after installation of the wire. Routine maintenance is recommended after running in wet conditions. Please refer to this document for running and maintaining motors in wet environments.
