first off, my order was shipped out within hours of placing an order. received in 3 days. great customer service BuddyRC as always. i am not a new customer as i have placed orders in the past. As for the radio, it is true what they say that this radio is all you need. because i took a long break, I did not know that such radio existed.. a multi protocol radio that can bind to many receivers regardless of the protocol. in addition, You get a nice bright color lcd screen. it is a touch screen but not enabled yet. the best part is the price.. i could not believe that i paid under 200 for a feature rich radio. this is a deal of the century lol.. kthnxbai
Love this radio. That said, the support here is what's up folks. Have you dealt with the Customer Support elsewhere and got the run-around? I got same day email response on a return item and the replacement shipped the same day they got the old unit. We need to reward good service and I intend to get my gear here if its in stock. Thanks BuddyRC. Oh yeah, this radio is a lot of bang for the buck and you would be hard-pressed to get more for your money.
bought a Jumper....had bad problems with the SD card issue.......was told to buy the Radiomaster instead....but didn't listen and paid the price.....the Radiomaster is a lot better value and better built by far
Thanks to Buddy RC I received the transmitter in brand new pristine condition very quickly. I've owned many radios. Futaba, JR, Spektrum DX7, DX6 G3, FrSky QX7S, FlySky i6x. This one is a great compromise between all of them. The programability options are nearly endless. The switches feel solid. The aluminum hall gimbals feel precise. It's great that it comes with the EPP transmitter case, charging USB cable, spare gimbal springs, and a cool little keychain of a miniature TX16S. The transmitter so far has been reliable with a small quadcopter and a Timber X 1.2m using a FlySky ia6b receiver.
The only downsides are the navigational scroll wheel, it is very sensitive and you can easily misclick/select the incorrect item if you are not careful. Second, the gimbals have different tensions. I had to loosen the elevator, tighten the aileron, tighten the rudder. Third, the sys or mdl silver buttons feel cheap. They do the job, but they do feel cheap. Fourth, the trim tabs are small and sometimes you have to hunt for them while keeping your eyes on the aircraft.
I use Samsung 35E 18650 batteries with the stock included 18650 battery carrier and it works perfectly. I can charge with the included USB cable as well. Set voltage to 6.4v-8.4v.
The gimbal stick ends are M4 size (JR). You cannot use M3 gimbal stick ends (spektrum, frsky).
I was also able to customize my menu by making everything blue and white. I made my own custom splash welcome screen and background with a 480x272 .png image named background.png or splash.png.
I also was able to add the amber OpenTX soundpack. The "welcome to opentx" sound file cut off at the start everytime I started up the transmitter, so I used audacity to add about 0.5 seconds to the hello.wav file of the amber sound pack, put it in the TX16S SD card and now it starts up perfectly. I believe the extra half a second of silence in the hello.wav file lets the TX16S software start up safely in the background first.
Order was filled lightening fast.
